WHOSE TOWN IZIT?
In 1840 the Governor of New Zealand named the area of Ann's hometown in honor of George Eden, Earl of Auckland, a British Whig politician and Colonial Administrator.
Auckland is one of the oldest wine producing areas of New Zealand.
Congratulations, again, to Carrie for solving the mystery of Whose Town Izit?"

Look real close! The sky is clear!
It may be your town pictured, here.
I am guessing not the United States so .... hmmm... Wirral, Cheshire, UK
ReplyDeleteBTW, I missed posting again l last week (drama as usual) but have already taken some pics for this week and looking forward to it.
Wirral was featured a couple of weks back. Good guess, but wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy guesses are Aubiere, France or Vineland, NJ. Those hills behind the vines looks like CA to me though!
ReplyDeleteIt seems strange for these two photos to be from the same town. The first says UK, but true, the sky is not often clear there. The second cannot be from the places you'd usually see such architecture. Hmmm. American universities often copied the look of Oxford or Cambridge.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing: Las Vegas?
One guess per visit, please.
ReplyDeleteThe correct town is none of these.

ReplyDeleteArmidale
ReplyDeleteAnother guess will be required.
ReplyDeleteThe second photo looks like it is somewhere in the west. It doesn't really look like what I'm going to say, but it's the only town listed in the west that makes sense to me for this photo.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Coeur d Alene, Idaho.

ReplyDeleteI believe the top photo is one of mine, Princeton New Jersey...I remember the car in the driveway as I was doing a drive by in the cloudy rain?
ReplyDeletei'll try that again,
ReplyDeleteKent's Billings Montana,
My friends, you are guessing in the dark. Both shots are clues to the hometown. Maybe it belongs to someone who has guessed, or perhaps, not. You still have work to do.
ReplyDeleteI may have been vague in my last comment. Let me be clear in my song. All guesses have been wrong.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to your puzzles
ReplyDeleteI cannot dance
but I would guess somewhere
in the south of France.
A wine vineyard?
Don't laugh. I tried.
My, My! You did try,
ReplyDeleteBut, your answer will not fly.
I suppose I will try my hand...
ReplyDeleteis it Auckland, New Zealand?
Carrie, you have a very good hand. It is Auckland, New Zealand. You AMAZE me!
ReplyDeleteWahoo,
ReplyDeleteI'm 2 for 2!
Actually, Gordon, my jaw dropped when I read that I was right. It may be the only thing I got right all day! :)
Good or lucky, you still rock!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, you are giving J9 some competition.
