Jan. 22 - "Sounds in your town" by NanU
"There are two versions of this theme. First, the simple one. We’ve been treated many different aspects of what your town looks like. Treat another sense: what makes your town sound like your town? Traffic? Kids playing? Birds? That annoying dog next door? Fill our senses with a differentperspective.
The complicated version (and I apologise for not giving you more lead-timeon this) I have heard called a ‘blind hike’. Find a trusty partner. Wear a blindfold (no peeking!). Get your camera, and with the help of your partner, wander around noticing what you hear. Take pictures (no peeking!) while you’re at it. It’s quite fun to do, and the photos will surprise you. Enjoy!" NanU

Cool clip of the falls! That's the spirit.
ReplyDeleteSomeday we should do the Smells of My Town...
this is something I am always saying, '... but the photo doesn't give you the smell...' when in France or Italy, of course.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...a blind hike! If a photographer falls in the forest and nobody is around, does he make a sound? Oh yes, you need to take someone with you.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it's not _absolutely_ required... But I wouldn't want to be responsible for broken bones, tripped-over cats, broken cameras, car accidents and etc!
ReplyDeleteI was showing my children a picture that I took and the swore they could smell it. I think I can hear a picture forming....
ReplyDeleteI am having fun with this one but I am not confident to do the blindfold thing!
ReplyDeleteHey. I've been gone for a long time. But I have now settled in my new town of Chesapeake, VA! It's not Hawaii, but we love it! I have enjoyed the shoot outs so much! And since I last participated, things seem to be very organized now. What a fun group!
ReplyDeleteTurned out easier than I thought.
ReplyDeletealso I remember the thundering of Niagara falls.
Oh pooh. I'm going to be late with my post. Work called and they need me to come in tomorrow (12.5 hour shift) so I've got to get to bed and tomorrow's shot. I'll get it up Saturday or Sunday. It's SUCH a fun topic; I'm having a blast with it.
ReplyDeleteNanU, I'm sorry to say that I will not be posting this week. I have been in bed with the flu for two days. Regrettable, to me, because you are one of my favorite members of the group. You have class, girl!
ReplyDeleteIn the futue, my time will not allow me the luxury of making regular weekly posts. I will keep abreast of what is going on. There are other family projects that must take priority, right now.
To those that have been such good friends, I say, thank you. I am not quiting, just cutting back on my involvement.
May God's blessings be with all of you.
