Spotlights - Colours of the Season

I shouldn't be so stubborn and say it is the colors of the season but the ghost of an old nun who taught me at school still sits on my shoulder and makes sure I spell the English way the nuns worked so hard to teach us.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week. Welcome Ileana from Romania.  I fell in love with the delicate beauty and seasonal colours of your home town:

I was thrilled to see J9 once again showcasing the colours of Northern California. We barely see autumn colours where I live so I always find them extra appealing.

Thanks to Kerry, Corvallis, Oregan is a favourite place for me.  Great composition and I can feel the brrrr in the air.  I think it is the subtlety of the beauty in this image that appeals.

I don't know if I can explain my thought processes with this next shot.  The instant I saw it I thought "That could be the top of the world."  I love the idea of being so high and looking out over such a huge expanse of our world.  This was Mark's world when he was in Costa Rica, I find that perfectly acceptable for a Home Town shot and it speaks to me of the differences in the places where we all live; and that there is beauty to be found everywhere, at the top of the world or down here where Ann and I live at the bottom of the world.

I look forward to seeing you all next week when our weekly spotlighter is Ginger and our weekly theme is Holiday Traditions. What are your traditions during the holidays? Does your town have any traditions?

Friday My Town Shoot Out is a group blog kept going by wonderful volunteers who love the idea of sharing our home towns and visiting other places through images. We welcome you to participate in our weekly link-ups and/or get more involved as one of our volunteers.
